I know that most of these modules take place in GreyHawk, but they’re widely scattered all over the globe - and I’m not really that into my players having to run around the world! I also want to place these modules in a relatively setting free environment, as my players are not that into reading source material. And how B2 and X1 are such strong examples of how to go about building a campaign. I’d really forgotten how much emphasis is put in B/X on doing things yourself and actually creating worlds, cities, locations, etc. So I’ve been inspired by a recent read through of the classic D&D B/X sets, Dungeon Magazines list I of the 30 top D&D modules of all time, and reading a bunch blog posts on Sandboxing.
